A Look At Online Casual Game: Defend Your Honor!

“Defend Your Honor!” is a tower defence style game set around a number of interlinked levels which add another dimension of strategic planning to the game especially as new characters can be purchased from the shop – for a price of course! As you play each level, which consists of two sub-levels and a master level, you are awarded with a key for each sub-level which unlock the main room.

As the game says “The king has offered command of his vast army to the Man (or Elf) who returns his missing Golden Statue. It’s up to you to find it and win this grand prize, and maybe make some friends on the way.”

You place your characters (units) at the start of battle then hope you got it right – but don’t worry you can always pause the game mid level and re-arrange your units – however you lose upgrades if you do this so make sure you have enough money. Game levels are typically quite short, with a number of waves of different creatures out to steal your statues – each wave lasts around 30 seconds and levels can have up to 10 waves.

Helper characters, you unlock on your travels, include five unusual characters:

• Dwarven Brawler – good strong ground attacks but needs close range
• Troll Rogue – offers a long range air attack
• Undead Cleric – doesn’t attack but instead boosts speed and power of units closeby
• Elven Mage – medium range magic attacks
• Human Bard – slows the enemies to a crawling pace

A number of treasures (awards) can be gained for performing certain tasks

• Armorous – For clicking on the click through to the Sponsor site
• Rookie – for getting the first Walrus trophy
• Scrooge – For saving over 1,000 coins
• Conversationalist – for visiting the Warus King regularly
• Social Network – for adding all 5 types of units
• Battle Master – for obtaining the fourth Walrus trophy
• Chinchilla – For actually finishing the game

Game play is using the mouse and due to the overall shortness of the game it is quite fun especially when you get to the last wave and find you haven’t quite placed your units right – and funds are low!

Some tips for playing “Defend Your Honor!”

• Don’t always spend your money upgrading units early on – they can be reclaimed and moved into new spots by pausing the level.
• Save money so you can earn up to 10% interest on it between waver
• Purchase all the Undead Clerics and place them behind your key units – they will give them a much needed extra boost
• Spend your money on additional units before upgrading the ones you have too much
• Remember to head into the shop and increase the number of helpers, early on remember the Dwarves, though strong, have no effect on some of the baddies.
• The very last wave you have to face ten green globule like creatures with 999 health points each – upgrade everything by this time.
