The purpose of EggnChips is to investigate and understand how search engines work through the use of the technologies that build up around them.

Many search engines are still primarily text based using some form of keyword searching but there are many other possibilities out there so this is where we plan to examine some of these ideas.

An early step in the investigation will be to look deeper into Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) techniques focusing in particular on “best practice”. To frame this area of the investigation the question we are hoping to answer is: Having worked hard on designing and building a website, and making regular high quality updates, how do we best connect to our readers?
