Find Your Way, For Free, With Nokia Ovi Maps

A new, free, version of Nokia Maps – or rather Ovi Maps as it’s now known is now available from Nokia.

Offering turn-by-turn driving directions as well as walking directions together with a host of other features Nokia looks set to change the assisted navigation landscape.

Currently supporting ten GPS-enabled Nokia handsets, including the N97 mini and E72, with many more to come (fingers crossed for the N95 8GB – ed!) the free navigation software could be a real time saver for the busy commuter.

The walk navigation for pedestrians is particular worthy of a mention as it includes time saving shortcuts through public places such as parks and pedestrian only zones together with over 6,000 landmarks rendered in 3D – from over 200 cities.

The turn-by-turn navigation is voice guided too for both driving and walking with the driving facility also including safety camera and speed warnings as well as up to date traffic information.
