Shopping Cart Hero, developed by Monkeywantbanana, is a fantastic gem of online casual gaming! It is addicting to say the least, so addicting, that an iPod app version of Shopping Cart Hero can now be downloaded from the iTunes store!

The aim of Shopping Cart Hero is unusually simple. Fly your shopping cart (yes, shopping cart) over a ramp and gain air. Now, you will get money/points for landing safely, and not crashing. By travelling a long distance, more points will be gained, thus more money! Performing stunts gets you even more money.

Earning money in a game, usually means upgrades, and Shopping Cart Hero is no exception. The image below shows the Upgrades screen which will be shown after every jump.

As you can see, there are three lines of potential upgrades, Wheels, Acceleration, and Groupies. Also available are two types of un-lockable stunts, the Superman styled stunt, and a handstand in mid-air stunt.

How will these upgrades help you in Shopping Cart Hero?

• Wheels – If you’ve ever visited your local supermarket, you may know that a shopping carts wheels, aren’t particularly useful when it comes to manoeuvring at a fast speed. A better set of wheels on your cart means you will gain more speed down the ramp, and a softer landing.
• Acceleration – As well as wheels, and the laws of physics moving your cart down that runway and onto that ramp, you can now install a rocket. This will help you gain a lot more air, and in turn, you can perform more stunts as you will have more time in the air to perform them. But beware, speed kills.
• Groupies – Now you can take friends along for the ride! Groupies are a mixed blessing in my book, sure its cool to see three stick man do a loop-the-loop in mid-air, but Groupies can mean a lot more weight, and that means that it will take longer to balance, possibly ending in a crash.
• Stunts – Stunts can be either bought on the upgrades screen, or performed yourself. In mid-air, by pressing right or left, the cart will lean that way, keeping hold of the button you will do a full loop, or crash if you didn’t have enough air. Stunts bought from the upgrades screen are done in a sequence of arrows, they can be done while in mid-air and holding them will mean more money, but remember to keep yourself a good amount of time to balance, and land.

Tips on success in Shopping Cart Hero

• Do not spend your money all at once, you may wish to wait a while, and spend it on one large upgrade.
• If you can gain enough height – perform a flip (a complete rotation) to earn 300 cash – just make sure you leave enough air to land.
• When jumping in the cart wait until you reach the flag in order to reach optimum speed.
• Rockets are a great way to gain more money, by gaining more air, well worth the cash.
• Mix up stunts, by this I mean you could try performing a handstand, and loop-the-looping at the same time, you will gain a lot more money.
