PowerLeveling WoW

If you play World of Warcraft (WoW), you’ve probably heard of powerleveling and it’s likely you know the term has to do with levelling your character faster. But do you really know what it means and how to do it for yourself?

If you’re feeling a little noob about powerleveling WoW, here’s some basic info.

Firstly, you need to be aware that there are two different ways to powerlevel in WoW. The first type refers to hiring a powerleveling service to level your character. To do so, you will need to give them access to your account and this is a very risky move to make. Even if you go with a company that has a reputation for being trustworthy, you could have your account stolen and there is nothing Blizzard will do about it since you gave them access to your account.

Another problem that can result from this is that you can get your account banned. Often powerleveling companies will also use your character as a mule for their gold farming and gold selling missions and if your character is caught doing these transactions, you can be banned. You can’t use the excuse that it wasn’t you because you shouldn’t have given your account information to anyone in the first place.

The next form of the term “powerleveling” refers to leveling your own character either with another higher level account or with a friend who is higher level and can level you up. Some players buy two accounts so that they can do this.

You can power level this way by having a higher level character run you through instances, help you complete quests or even kill named mobs and bosses for you. This allows you to get through the levels more quickly. Sometimes this is used in a guild when they need a specific class such as an extra healer or tank. One member can make the needed class on their account and other guild members will help them powerlevel up.

If you want to powerlevel so that you can reach the max level of 80 (with all expansions) then the latter method is preferred. There are too many risks that come with the first method of powerleveling, not to mention it is frowned upon by many players. Some people consider it to be like cheating or taking the cheap way out when it comes to playing the game. You also cheat yourself out of the experience of leveling your own character.
