If you’re looking to play EVE Online, a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMORPG), you might have a lot of questions (read our introduction in EVE Online: Getting Started). This game takes place around 20,000 years after our times and in a galaxy at the far end of the universe. Technology has come a long way and in the game, you join EVE and take on the role of a freshly graduated Capsuleer.

Just as with all MMORPGs, one common question is how to make more money.

There are different ways to make money in EVE Online. The currency, Interstellar Kredits, is often abbreviated ISK. You can earn ISK from certain tasks given to you within the game by:

Mining asteroids and selling them

Running different types of missions given by NPCs

Hunting NPC pirates in certain parts of space

Explore unknown parts of space looking for hidden treasure.

Also like with other MMORPGs, you can make ISK by using your social skills and creativity to get ahead in the game against other people playing online. Many of the items or ships in EVE Online are made by players or sold through the central market system. You can play this system to your advantage to make ISK off of items that all players are going to need.

Another question about EVE involves how to level up.

This is actually an important one because you don’t level in EVE the same way you do in other games. Instead you purchase skills and then train them in real time until you have finished. These skills will even train for you while you are offline. There are many different types of skills that do many things such as flying specific ships, using certain weapons or increasing your skill with certain weapons. There are five levels of each skill but each subsequent level will take longer to train than the one before.

While EVE is somewhat more complex than other games of this type, there are many help resources available to you. There is also a high learning curve with this game and you shouldn’t try to learn everything at once.

Part of the fun of the game is exploring the unique and vast world out there.

If you are new to Guild Wars and you want to know more about the game and how you can excel in it, a Guild Wars FAQ will be very helpful. It’s normal for any player to have questions about the game, especially if you are new to it. Maybe you already have friends who play or maybe you just want to jump into the action without feeling lost about common things. This is where a Guild Wars FAQ can go a long way to making this learning process easier for you.

Some questions that might be asked in a Guild Wars FAQ include:

What kind of character can I make?

How many character slots do I have?

What is Guild Wars PVP?

What kind of skills do I get?

How do I level up my character?

Typically a Guild Wars FAQ will attempt to answer these basic questions that a person might have when they first start playing the game. You will learn how to create your account, make your first character, name your character and get around in the early stages of the game.

What kind of character can I make?

There are a variety of characters for you to choose from, depending on which version of Guild Wars you have. Some classes aren’t open to people with certain types of accounts or players without specific expansions/campaigns of Guild Wars.

How many character slots do I have?

You will be able to choose what your character looks like and choose a name as long as it is not already in use or goes against the naming rules. If you’d like to purchase more character slots at a later date to make more alternate characters, you can do so through the Guild Wars online store (accessible through your log in screen).

What is Guild Wars PVP?

Guild Wars is a game based around PvP or, player versus player. You can begin PVP on most servers and most campaigns at any time. Some people make a level 20 character to start out specifically for PVP because they don’t want to level and do the PvE aspects of the game. You can also PvP with your guild mates and friends, hence the name “guild wars”.

What kind of skills do I get?

You will gain skills as you level up and based on what type of character you make. You will also get to choose certain attributes that you want your character to have and this will affect your skills.

How do I level up my character?

As you play, complete quests and kill monsters, your character will level up. As you gain levels, you will gain more skills and abilities as well as acquire different and better gear. This is how you move up in the game. These are just the basics but a complete Guild Wars FAQ will tell you more about the things you want to know.

What is your favourite Guild Wars tip?
